Book&ME inspires creative digital interaction between children and the printed book,
creating a personal story that they can call their own.
Children around the world and throughout the ages, have always loved a good story and the imaginary worlds they are invited to experience.
However, children today have become accustomed to faster moving images, digital applications and touch screens. A good story will always have the ability to capture the imagination, but the fact is that the medium – traditional printed books – no longer suit a digital native generation.
The concept: Inspire.Create.Personalize.
Book&ME was created especially for the digital native generation; drawing them outside of the screen and inspiring a creative interaction with the printed book and the world around them, using images from their surroundings and their own inner-world.
After buying the book, the photo application can be simply downloaded by scanning the QR code on the book. The app. is a platform for taking photos to provide personal content for the book. It has visual reference from the book and an audio guide in each frame, and allows them to re-take photos as much as they like!
What sets Book&ME apart from other digital interactive books is that it allows the child’s inner-world to take part in the narrative at the point where print meets the digital media – creating a unique and personal experience of the story.
Submitting the content will send a PDF file by email where the pictures will appear and match the sticker in postcard size sheets provided with the book and then easily printed and assembled in the book.
The aim of Book&ME is to create a product which combines up-to-date technologies with the irreplaceable joy of a book you can flip through and read over and over. I believe people want to extend their daily encounter with interactive technology and reclaim their sense of wonder, seeking to prolong the magic. The Book&ME platform is suitable to new content as well as classic story books.

The product provides a “book intervention” and storytelling experience with visual content of a child’s everyday life: personal objects, and moreover – their own facial expression.
By integrating their photos and using ‘role playing’, the child has the opportunity to identify with the story and find his/her own way of looking at the world.
It is an opportunity for those who are willing to surpass the obvious and seek the wonder and imagination in everyday lives, moods, images, textures and objects.
The project had been prototype with one book, “You Are Not Made Out of Sugar” There the child discovers shapes in the clouds and wishes to restore those shapes when and wherever they wants. In the twilight between dream and reality, they go on a journey with a friendly whale and learn to enjoy their creativity by relaxing and excepting. when the images start appearing everywhere, the child begins to feel free to unleash their imagination.
Book&ME application requires access to camera only for photo-shooting purposes and does not send your data anywhere. Application requires read-only access to Photos for purpose of saving your creations.
